When being open minded pays off

Being a really unhealthy eater who binge eats and thrives on junk food, l always tell people that l am allergic to fruit, vegetables and salads. My body exhibits this quite ashamedly. It spills out uncomfortably as l reach for more junk food. Visiting Reload last week, and of course considering anything but a healthy alternative, and certainly not a vegetarian choice, l perused the menu for calorie laden, additional kilogram loaded food. Kilaan recommended the vegetarian burger made from Quinoa and Chickpea. l didn’t hold back from saying that it just wasn’t me at all. It sounded way to healthy and I wanted my meat! He looked at me wide -eyed, respectfully refraining from what he must’ve wanted to say! His motivation to try it because it is “absolutely delicious” convinced me. Although I waited in anticipation for something that l just knew l would hate, l was astounded at myself for having my arm twisted to even try what sounded disgusting. I had to consciously brief my taste buds with an apology! OMW! I almost hate to admit that it was a piece of heaven. It went against my unhealthy mindset to have risked upsetting my taste buds. I’m sure that I heard them thank me! This burger was sensational. My mouth waters just thinking about it. I am excited to go back to have another one. In fact, l think that l may well be hooked. Note to self: Be open minded. Don’t allow preconceived ideas to stand in your way. You really don’t know until you try. Wow, am l pleased that l tried! The ingredients just work together creating an oral symphony! Delicious is an understatement. I'm sure that my body thanked me for some salubrious input. Find it on the Menu under Burgers: QUINOA & CHICKPEA BURGER (V) Two delicious patties, slowly grilled and topped with sautéed mushrooms and an avocado and tahini sauce, garden greensand tomato, with hand-cut fries or a garden salad.
